"Sundog Sounds Vol. 1 was made up, almost entirely, of artists that we found on Instagram. The first was The Groovy Nobody. We reached out to Sam and he immediately wrote and recorded a song, which turned out to be Sunsick. From there we slowly found more people throughout the Pacific North West (that's where we were temporarily living at the time) and we reached out to a our friend Jaron Yancey, and before you know it, Sundog Sounds Vol. 1 was born. We cut this record on a limited run of records which sold out almost immediately which was completely surreal to us. It still holds up as a nice compilation in my mind."

"Sundog Sounds Vol. 2 was the sister release to Vol. 1 because not only did it host a few of the same bands but it was made almost at the exact same time. When I was putting together the first compilation, I gathered far too many songs, so these first two could be thought of as one giant double album. This release also sold out almost immediately. Personally, of the first two, this one is my favorite."

"While it's still a compilation, Flashbacks is quite the departure from the first two releases. Years ago I had a big collection of rare 60s 7" records from bands who only ever cut one or two records and are fairly obscure. I had to move across the country and before I did that, I ripped all of the 7's that I had onto my hard drive because I couldn't take them all with me. Fast forward ten or so years and in my hard drive I dug up this massive folder of old 7" records, obscure one off albums, ambient records, Grateful Dead bootlegs, and more. I compiled a gang of songs that are not just obscure but were produced between 1966 and 1969 - the prime era for psychedelic rock. The intention of this release was mainly to introduce people to some of these lesser known bands that actually were named as an influence from a few very prominent psych figures. Not to mention a couple of these tracks are the first to incorporate modern psychedelic recording methods - which is the reason why most of them didn't go very far, they was ahead of their time. No money is or ever will be made off of this release. It's meant to be out there for the sole purpose of keeping the music alive and preserving history. Through this release we created The Sundog Preservation Society where we will slowly release these rare records, singles, and bootlegs as a means of keeping it alive and introducing new ears to what came before all the greats we know and love."
